All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics to be used for Angelman Syndrome research "Raising hope through Research, Changing lives together" Angelman Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by global developmental delays and severe speech impairment, these impairments affect an individual's ability to learn basic skills. Most individuals with AS also suffer seizure disorders, which can be difficult to treat. Feeding disorders in infancy are common and some persist throughout childhood. Sleeping difficulties are commonly noted as well. But there is hope. They continue to progress throughout their lifespan, and their ability to learn is greatly enhanced by intensive educational programs, repetition and environmental enrichment. Recent research findings have also led to hope for a cure.
